Giant Milkweed Cuttings - (Calotropis gigantea)

from $8.00
sold out

Giant milkweed is a resilient plant that plays an essential role in the early stages of food forest/agroforestry systems, especially if there is no access to water. This plant is extremely drought tolerant and thrives in dry, sandy soils. It sprouts vigorously after pruning and it’s thick, fuzzy leaves make an excellent mulch. It flowers off and on all year long, helping to attract beneficial pollinators like monarch butterflies.

Site Preference: Prefers full sun and dry conditions, does not tolerate deep shade or waterlogging. May die back in the winter but will readily bounce back in Spring.

Propagation: Propagates easily through cuttings, just stick cuttings in soil and keep watered for a few days.

All cuttings are 6-9 inches in length.
